Parque Natural El Cubano (English: El Cubano Natural Park) is a small but beautifully scenic protected area in central Cuba. It is located about **5 km north of the town of Trinidad, in the province of Sancti Spíritus, alongside the Guaurabo River in the Escambray (Guamuhaya) Mountains.

The site spans roughly 2 kilometres in length along the riverbank.

Highlights include:

Pronounced forested premontane vegetation and lush greenery typical of the region.
A scenic trail known as “Huellas de la Historia” (Traces of History) that passes old colonial-plantation ruins (e.g., an old sugar-mill) and leads to the Salto de Javira, a waterfall and natural pool where visitors can swim.
Adventure-style elements like hanging/rope bridges, river crossings, natural baths (pools), and the option of horseback riding.
A low-difficulty hiking experience (marked trails) suitable for visitors of moderate fitness.

Tips for Visiting

Go early in the day to avoid crowds and enjoy cooler conditions. Some trail sections can be slippery if wet.
Wear good walking shoes suitable for wet/rocky terrain; bring swimming gear for the natural pool at the waterfall.
From Trinidad you can reach it by taxi, local transporte, or even hire a guide; the last stretch of road is narrower and less maintained.
The surrounding area also offers horseback riding, lunch in a local ranchón, and other nature excursions if you want to extend the day.
Although small, the park offers a good balance of nature + light activity and is a nice complement to the colonial town of Trinidad + the Escambray mountain region.
